Registrar

Sotheby's International Auction House

Responsible for directing and organizing the handling of art objects for Sotheby’s Annual Evening Auctions, their largest marquee event. Additional duties include assessing and cataloging art across a vast spectrum of materials, time periods, and cultures to prepare property for auction.

Promoted to an expanded role that includes managing the art receiving dock and overseeing, tracking, and routing all deliveries including high-value and confidential property; directing a team of 10+ art handlers; and managing scheduling, unpacking, and movement of all property

 

Promoted to art registrar department co-team lead with responsibility for coordinating internal communications between the New York headquarters and Sotheby’s international offices, tracking art objects, liaising with clients, and collaborating on international sales.

Research Assistant

Program in International & Comparative Studies;
Center for Middle Eastern & North African Studies

Responsible for supporting two separate academic programs in UM’s college of Literature, Science & the Arts. Primary duties involve conducting student and faculty interviews and then developing and writing stories for the departments’ respective websites and multiple newsletters. Additional duties include reporting on guest lectures and donor events for publication. 

Daily Arts Writer

The Michigan Daily

Responsible for developing, reporting, and writing stories on deadline for the Arts Section of The Michigan Daily, the university’s independently-financed, student-run on-campus newspaper printed five days per week and with more than 230,000 unique visitors per month to its website. Experience includes pitching new story ideas in weekly editorial meetings and working with the digital team to produce multimedia packages. 

Digital Publications Intern

Law Library, Library of Congress

Responsible for using materials from the Law Library to conduct historical research on the U.S. Civilian Conservation Corps, a public relief work program created by FDR’s New Deal. Based on this research, an overview blog post was written and an image and caption “story map” of the CCC’s work and impact were created, both of which will be published in early 2022 on the Library’s website.   

Curatorial Intern

Flint Institute of Arts

Responsible for researching the Japanese Decorative Arts collection, which is comprised of 60 to 80 objects ranging from ceramics to metal craft from the 15th to 20th centuries, in order to write enhanced museum labels for the individual exhibits. Also responsible for delivering a final presentation to the Curatorial Department on the research and methodology used.
